Football fans often chant “he’s one of our own” to their homegrown players at matches and it is PartyPoker’s time to sing that tune because Team PartyPoker’s Patrick Leonard is a MILLIONS Online champion! The super-popular British star was the last player standing in the MILLIONS Online edition of The Grand, a fantastic result that saw the balla take home a cool $29,731.

Leonard is in hot form right now, having captured his first World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet in Las Vegas this summer. Now he is transferring his live run-good to the virtual felt, and that spells bad news for anyone who finds themselves on his table.

MILLIONS Online #07 The Grand saw 152 players fight it out for a slice of the $151,633 prize pool. Dozens of elite-level grinders flexed their muscles in this event, but only 27 of them finished in the money places.

Sami Kelopuro, Ivan Luca, Joakim Andersson, Nacho Barbero, Niklas Astedt, Elio Fox, and another of our own Matthew Staples busted before the money places. Brazil’s Denny Ramos was the unfortunate soul who popped the all-important money bubble, busting in 28th place with 27 paid.

Among those who saw a return on their investment included former Irish Open champion Dan Wilson, flying Finn Samuel Vousden, Christian Rudolph, and Team Online’s Jaime Staples.

The final table was an international affair, with six nations represented by some stellar names. Tauan Naves and Gustavo Mastelotto, both of Brazil, were the first pair of players to hit the rail. Carlos Villamarin of Canada fell next, before MILLIONS Online Opener PKO champion Vojtech Skalak fell by the wayside in sixth. Skalak’s fellow Czech, Jiri Lipina, busted in fifth.

Johannes Straver saw his tournament end in fourth place for $10,134, the event’s first five-figure sum. Then came the untimely demise of Ukraine’s Andrii Derzhypilskyi in third, worth $14,653.

Leonard found himself heads-up against Leonard Maue in a one-on-one battle for the title, the lion’s share of the prize pool, and the glory. Our hero defeated his Austrian opponent to receive all three of those things, his prize money tipping the scales at $29,731. Maue collected a $20,745 consolation prize.

The MILLIONS Online edition of The Grand runs again this week. The Phase Final costs $1,050 to buy into, but you can play your way in from as little as $0.01! Your entry route into this amazing tournament goes $0.01 > $1.10 > $11 > $109 > $1,050. Good luck!
